There have been encouraging developments since this article was posted following the response from the UK’s Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) to a suggestion “ .. Let's get fracking here in the UK .. ” sent to politicians and copied to other interested parties, including members of Repeal the Act (http://www.repealtheact.org.uk/about) and the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP).
