The Prince of Wales and his "Headless Chickens"

It has been widely reported that on 30th January 2014 the Prince of Wales branded climate change deniers the "headless chicken brigade" (e.g. see http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/01/31/prince-charles-climate-change_n_4702914.html?ncid=webmail1 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2549658/Prince-Charles-hits-climate-change-deniers-labelling-headless-chicken-brigade.html http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/457273/Climate-change-deniers-are-headless-chickens-says-Prince-Charles etc. etc. etc.).

Prince Charles is quoted as offering the following pearls of wisdom to his audience:
1) " .. It is baffling .. that in our modern world we have such blind trust in science and technology that we all accept what science tells us about everything - until, that is, it comes to climate science .. "
2) " .. with a barrage of sheer intimidation, we are told by powerful groups of deniers that the scientists are wrong .. "
3) "  .. we are told ... we must abandon all our faith in so much overwhelming scientific evidence .. "
4) " .. we have spent the best part of the past century enthusiastically testing the world to utter destruction .. ".
5) " .. So, thank goodness for our young entrepreneurs here, who have the far-sightedness and confidence in what they know is happening to ignore the headless chicken brigade .. ".

Let's get fracking

There have been encouraging developments since this article was posted following the response from the UK’s Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) to a suggestion “ .. Let's get fracking here in the UK .. ” sent to politicians and copied to other interested parties, including members of Repeal the Act (http://www.repealtheact.org.uk/about) and the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP).

SpotlightON – The Philippines, BBC “Question Time” and CACC

INTRODUCTION

On 15th November 2013 that staunch supporter of the Catastrophic Anthropogenic Climate Change (CACC) hypothesis, the Guardian, posted an article “Japan under fire for scaling back plans to cut greenhouse gases” (http://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2013/nov/15/japan-scaling-back-cut-greenhouse-gases). It began with a picture of the Philippines negotiator Naderev Sano at the UN's climate change talks in Warsaw, Poland beneath which it says that he has begun a fast to protest against inaction on global warming, which he blames for Typhoon Haiyan (known locally as Typhoon Yolanda).

One relevant piece of information missing from all of the reports trying to link the Typhoon Haiyan catastrophe in the Philippines with CACC is that there was a similar catastrophe in the Philippines which killed an estimated 7000 people 116 years ago (Appendix A, Note 9)

Blaming natural weather events like this on our use of fossil fuels is a favourite trick of those who support the UN in its attempts to redistribute wealth from richer to poorer nations. This appears to be one of the main objectives of all of the UN’s propaganda about our use of fossil fuels leading to CACC. Propagandists will use anything that they can in order to promote their agenda but any CACC supporters using a catastrophe such as Typhoon Haiyan simply to promote their own agenda should hang their heads in shame. It is to be expected that leaders of less developed nations, eager to get their hands on as much money as they can from the richer developed nations, would give their unreserved support to the CACC propaganda. They have had their hands outstretched throughout each of the the UN’s Framework Convention on Climate Change (FCCC) Climate Change Conference of the Parties. The COP19 shindig is no different – Appendix A, Note 1).

What any of this has to do with the BBCs “Question Time” program should become clear later.

THANKS MAGGIE

My thanks to sadly departed Margaret Thatcher for saving us in the 70's from the stranglehold of  the trade unions and the persistent mismanagement of our economy by the Labour Party, demoralising taxation, explosion in public service (non-)job creation, rampant inflation, etc. etc. etc.

She restored our National pride and stature in world affairs but what a shame that she did not take us out of the EU while she was at it.
