Introduction

In Part 1 of this three-part article I talked about some of the earlier political propaganda promoting The (significant human-made global climate change) Hypothesis and looked at possible motivation of one UK publisher of books by authors who support that hypothesis. This time I’ll talk about a book that is in preparation, the co-authors and a little about its USA publisher.

This additional potential “spin and scare” book “Rising Sea Levels” is being prepared for publication by McFarland and Co by co-authors Hunt Janin and Ursula Carlson. Let us take a closer look at the degree of expertise in the subject of “Rising Sea Levels” shared by this pair of ambitious writers. After all, it would seem to be reasonable to expect that they know something about a subject that they are writing about, especially one as contentious as sea levels claimed to be rising as a result of our use of fossil fuels.

Last October in the run-up to the UN’s COP15 climate change fiasco in Copenhagen the previous UK “New Labour” Government’s Department of Energy and Climate Change ran a £6M advertising “scare” campaign “Bedtime Stories” as part of its Act on CO2 initiative. Accoring to the BBC (Note 1) QUOTE: This was intended “to make adults feel guilty about the impact their carbon emissions are having on their children's future. .. The minute-long ad, which launched on 9 October, features a father telling his daughter a bedtime story about "a very very strange" world with "horrible consequences" for children. It then goes on to show streets and houses underwater, with cartoon animals and people drowning and a jagged-tooth monster in the sky, representing global warming” UNQUOTE..

I recently came across a September 2010 report written by Andrew Montford for the Global Warming Policy Foundation. "THE CLIMATEGATE INQUIRIES"   is worth reading (http://thegwpf.org/images/stories/gwpf-reports/Climategate-Inquiries.pdf).

As Lord Turnbull (http://thegwpf.org/who-we-are/board-of-trustees.html) said in his forward to the report " .. The result has been that the three investigations have failed to achieve their objective, ie early and conclusive closure and restoration of confidence .. ".

As I pointed out at the end of this article there were high hopes for the action taken by Kenneth Cuccinelli, Attorney General of Virginia, against the University of Virginia but these were dashed in a March by the decision of the Circuit Court of Albermarle County to QUOTE: .. set aside the CIDs with prejudice, on the different ground that the University of Virginia, as an agency of the Commonwealth, does not constitute a "person" under the Fraud Against Taxpayers Act and therefore cannot be the proper subject of a CID .. Statistical Shenanigans & the IPCC’s Assessment Reports

Politicians are fully familiar with the phrase “Lies, damned lies and statistics” (the origin of which has been attributed to the UK politician Benjamin Disraeli – Note 1) and frequently use the powers of statistical manipulation to distort facts in order to support whatever argument they are using at any particular time.

Propaganda & Evangelism

Back in January at wattsupwiththat Anthony Watts presented an article concerning copyright and Peter Sinclair (much revered by gullible supporters of the UN’s human-made global climate change propaganda. That thread was referenced several times during the first half of March on Australian Senator Steve Fielding’s “Climate Change” thread (Note 1).

I dropped in at Wattsupwiththat (Note 2) and an article “Visualizing Arctic Coverage” caught my eye because of recent comments on Senator Fielding’s thread about the claimed catastrophic ice melt. After watching the UAHvGISSvHadCRUT animations I watched a Peter Sinclair A/V and decided to find out a little more about him. The first site that I came to (Note 3) described him as QUOTE: a radical environut who puts out a (usually) weekly series of YouTube video documentaries entitled “ Climate Crock of the Week” .. UNQUOTE. I soon understood why he was able to put across a very plausible presentation of climate change propaganda. He is not only a trained film producer but also a trained AGW propagandist, having been personally trained through The Climate Project by no less than global climate evangelist Al Gore.

CAN THERE BE AN INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION OF IPCC? – update 13/05/2010

In my articles of 14th April and 31st March I commented on the politically inspired whitewashing of the UEA CRU following the leaking of E-mails in November. First there was the whitewash by the UK’s Commons Science and Technology Committee then another by the UEA’s “independent” review chaired by Lord Oxburgh. It looks as though we’ll soon have the media reporting a third, this one by the UEA’s own review team chaired by Sir Muir Russell.

Some time ago sceptical climate change commentator John O’Sullivan published a revealing article QUOTE: Follow the Money: BBC Exposed in Biggest Climate Racket on Planet UNQUOTE (Note 1). It is an excellent example of how pension fund investments in green/renewable energy technologies provided the financial incentive for mainstream media organisations like the BBC to give full support to the UN’s human-made global climate change propaganda.
